What is Gummy smile?
A gummy smile is a condition in which a person shows a large amount of gum tissue when smiling. Although it is considered as normal variation, many people with gummy smiles suffer from embarrassment, lack of self esteem and self consciousness.
This is my gum before the treatment. It looks really horrible and my teeth are like really short. It doesn't looks healthy at all. That's why i visited Nuffield Dental @ kovan.

Upon stepping in the treatment room, i feel rather comfortable because the room
looks really clean and neat. Tv mounted on wall for entertainment and
music is on for you to feel relax.

A gum surgery was done to trim the gum and remove some of the bone underneath it.
It sounds very frightening, imagine the doctor are cutting my gum and scraping my bones away.
The procedure itself went much easier than I thought and it took about 1 hr. And the result, when doctor handed me the mirror, I was really surprised by how good it already look!! I was told that it would take about 6-8 weeks for the gum to heal.

Totally to my expectation! With the anesthetic on, i feel no pain at all even after the surgery.
I also thinks that it heal really quite fast. Less than six weeks, my teeth is ready to be show!
